Crowning the first set of “Homecoming Royals”

MSU trumps Homecoming "King & Queen" for more Inclusive Title

On October 18th, Montclair State University will be crowning its first set of Homecoming Royals in an effort to be a more gender inclusive campus. With the growing support for the LGBTQ community Montclair State leads the charge in many aspects including being one of only four NJ campuses to have an LGBTQ Center. They have now gone a step further by eliminating the gender binary terms of King and Queen from the Homecoming tradition. Though the overall consensus seems to be positive may students have expressed concern that this new procedure may have crossed a line.
