New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R), held his 132nd Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in Whippany, NJ. The audience included Montclair State University President Dr. Susan A. Cole and a group of about 20 MSU students. The Governor, a potential candidate for the 2016 Presidential race, discussed issues relating to New Jersey’s fiscal spending and took questions on topics including: government growth, the minimum wage, one’s freedom and liberties, among others.
This Town Hall meeting had a more personal touch than others as it included an appearance by Christie’s wife, New Jersey First Lady Mary Pat and a group of the Governor’s former classmates from Livingston High School. For Montclair State students, this was an appreciated opportunity to interact with an elected official in an more intimate environment.
