What to catch on the big screen this month

As the Oscars have just wrapped up this past week its time to immerse ourselves into some more great movies. This March is a great time to grab your popcorn and head to the theatre with a wide selection of movies that are coming soon.

300: Rise of an Empire

A promising sequel to 300, Zach Snyder and director Noam Murro are back to take over the big screen Greek style. The film is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel Xerxes and delves into the story of 300 from the battle at sea between Themistocles and Xerxes’ Naval Commander, Artemisia. It stars Sullivan Stapleton as Themistokles, Eva Green as Artemisia, Hans Matheson as Aesyklos and Lena Headey who is reprising her role as Queen Gorgo

Mr. Peabody & Sherman

Directed by Rob Minkoff who has also directed other animated hits such as The Lion King, brings Mr. Peabody, the world’s smartest dog and his adopted son Sherman on their hilarious adventure through time with their WABAC time machine.

Need for Speed

Aaron Paul makes his transition from Breaking Bad in this action-packed film that is based on the popular video game. It follows a street racer, just recently released from prison that was framed by a wealthy business associate for his friend’s death. Paul’s character Speed Tobey joins a cross-country race to avenge the death of his friend.

Bad Words

Jason Bateman directs and stars in this R-rated comedy about a 40-year-old Guy Trilby (Bateman) who finds a loophole in spelling bee bylaws to enter himself as a contestant to cause chaos to the competition. Along the way, Guy befriends a competitor: 10 year old Chaitanya (Rohan Chand) who is undaunted by Guy and his ways of showing the crazier side of life.
