Gunman at Garden State Plaza in Paramus

Active Shooter draws Intense Law Enforcement Response

Headlines started to break late in the evening that an active shooter was in the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, NJ. The suspect,20 year-old Richard Shoop, from Teaneck, was found dead by police in the basement with a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head early this morning. Patrons of the mall spoke to local news outlets describing a scene of Shoop wandering the mall brandishing a weapon and firing it. Nobody was injured but the shooter was later found by law enforcement.
