De-Stress for Finals Week!

The Office of Health Promotion at Montclair State and other campus partners held their annual “De-Stress for Finals Week” from Monday, May 2 to Thursday, May 5, 2016. Finals season is the most stressful time for students, including class projects and final exams. Montclair’s goal is to invite the campus to take a break from their busy schedules and have a couple hours of fun with friends.On the first day, outside the drop-in

On the first day, outside the Drop-In Center, the events included bubbles, balloons, hula-hoops and free lemonade for the students of MSU. Even the simplest activities can prove to be very relaxing and effective to keeping healthy. Balloons were made available to pop to release stress along with hula-hoop contests at the Drop-In Center.

On the second day of events, mini horses came to campus, massages and coloring were made available at the Rathskeller, a barbecue was announced along with therapy dogs at Bohn Hall, and an afternoon of games with prizes and a pizza and ice cream party at the Student Center Commuter Lounge.

The third day of events included Make Your Own Mandalas at the Drop-In Center, more stress animals at Sprague Library, yoga and yogurt at the Recreation Center and game night with board games and a midnight breakfast at Sam’s Place including pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, donuts, bagels, and coffee!

The last De-Stress for Finals Week events included flower decorating and planting in the Student Center Lobby and cap decorating at the Recreation Center for the seniors walking in the spring.
