Clybourne Park’s Examination of Social Issues

From October 15th-19th students in the Montclair State University Department of Theatre and Dance performed in “Clybourne Park” a two act play written by Bruce Norris and directed by Susan Kerner. Based on the play, “A Raisin in the Sun”, written by Lorraine Hansberry, “Clybourne Park” continues the story and examines the dynamic history of a changing neighborhood over a 50 year period, dealing with themes of racism and gentrification along the way. Montclair Students Isaiah Jenkins and Virginia Vass discuss their roles in the show and how important it is to talk about the issues presented in the play.
