CARPE DIEM: State of News in New Jersey

On this episode of Carpe Diem, host Merrill Brown, director of the School of Communication and Media at Montclair State University is joined by the Center for Cooperative Media’s director and newly appointed associate director, Stefani Murray and Joe Amditis. The center is part of the School of Communication and Media and their mission is to grow and strengthen the news and information services serving New Jersey citizens creating new models that can be utilized nationwide . They partner with news and information providers across the state, creating a statewide network known as the NJ News Commons.

The Center’s media collaborations bring together more than 150 partners throughout the Garden State, a list that includes hyper local digital publishers, public media, newspapers, television and radio stations, and advertising and technology companies. Stefani and Joe are discuss the center’s mission, and the state of news here in New Jersey and around the country.
