CARPE DIEM: Broadcaster of the Year, Joe Torres

This episode of Carpe Diem welcomes Joe Torres, anchor and reporter at WABC-TV News in New York. Torres is an award-winning journalist, who’s also the host of “Tiempo,” a weekly program tackling issues of importance to the Hispanic community. At Channel 7 Eyewitness News, he provided extensive coverage of the travels of the late John Paul the second, and the 9-11 tragedy. Prior to joining Eyewitness News 17 years ago, Torres was a reporter at stations in Philadelphia, Scranton and Savannah. He’s also a native New Yorker.

Torres is the 2014 recipient of the Allen B. Dumont Broadcaster of the Year award from Montclair State’s School of Communication and Media.

This episode was produced and hosted by Marc Rosenweig, associate professor in the School of Communication and Media and directed by TVDM major Brianna Seneca.
