Airing on CARPE DIEM September 26th – 30th, 2016 — On this episode of Carpe Diem, host Jon Vazquez, a TVDM major in the School of Communication and Media at Montclair State University, discusses living with dying, the difficult task of knowing you have terminal illness, while still maintaining a normal lifestyle. This episode focuses on one woman, Lisa Larusso MacGowan, who was once given an initial life expectancy of five years when she was first diagnosed with scleroderma, but since then turned it into thirteen years of positivity and growth.
Jon is also joined by Danielle Lutz, a nurse who works with terminally ill patients, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, to speak about the importance of support, options, and the best way to open a line of communication between you and a loved one in a similar situation.
