CARPE DIEM: Author, professor, and blogger – Jeff Jarvis

On this episode of Carpe Diem, host Merrill Brown, director of the School of Communication and Media at Montclair State University is joined by Jeff Jarvis, a trailblazer in the evolution of online news, blogging, and advertising. Jeff writes a widely read blog, Buzzmachine.com, and is an author, whose books include What Would Google Do? and Public Parts: How Sharing in the Digital Age Improves the Way We Work and Live.

In his long media career, he was the creator and founding managing editor of Entertainment Weekly magazine and has also worked as a columnist, associate publisher, editor, and writer for a number of publications, including TV Guide and People. Today he’s deeply involved in the future of journalism education as Professor at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism and Director of the Tow Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism.
